FINANCIAL AIDS & WELFARE
SCHOLARSHIPS & LOANS UNIT
- The Scholarships & Loans Unit administers issues regarding the welfare and finances of students in obtaining loans/scholarships or other assistance so that students are able to continue their studies despite economic burdens.
- The unit also aids students in dealing with documents regarding loans/sponsorships or aid in ensuring the process in completing related dealings is carried out with more ease and completeness.
FINANCIAL AID
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)
Eligibility
- Must be a Malaysian citizen and does not exceed 45 years of age on the date of application
- The value of loan is dependent on the student’s family income
- Maintain GPA 2.0 and above every semester
- Must apply via PTPTN website https://www.ptptn.gov.my/
- Online application deadline: 28 February and 31 March / 31 August and 30 September
PTPTN Application Process
- Purchase PIN number from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) amounting RM5.05 or through PTPTN Website The pin is valid for 6 month.
- Open a personal account with Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB).The account will be used by PTPTN to disburse of the loan
- Open SSPN account at PTPTN one stop centre or through PTPTN website
Online Application
- Go to PTPTN website https://www.ptptn.gov.my/
- Fill in and complete the online application form- Butiran kursus Info
- Click “YA” once all the details have been filled and complete ( PTPTN Status “SEDANG DIPROSES”) means the application has been submitted to PTPTN
After Online
- Waiting for online application pre-approval (7 days after the closing date of the online application)
After Pre- Approval
- Download the agreement from PTPTN website https://www.ptptn.gov.my/ or log into your registered email for PTPTN and print out 2 set of agreement
- Read all the terms and conditions,sign and paste the duty stamps of RM10 on each set of the agreement
Hard Copies Submission
- Submit two sets of completed agreements together with UTS Offer Letter to any nearest PTPTN office / UTC
PTTN Payment
- Estimated time to get the first payment upon PTPTN pre-approval is around 2 month. (students to check their BIMB account)

Education Scholarship – Loan
Eligibility
- Only for Sarawakian either one of their parents are Sarawakian.
- Need to apply PTPTN first. Once rejected then can apply for Yayasan Sarawak
- Must obtain a credit for Bahasa Melayu in SPM or equivalent at UEC / O-Level
- For ‘Top-up’ for tuition fees, students are required to attach the PTPTN loan offer letter.
- Subject to term and conditions stipulated by Yayasan Sarawak
- Must apply online via Yayasan Sarawak website : yayasansarawak.org.my

- Fill in and complete application form
- The student must submit the online form and supporting document

- Application is open throughout the year

- A copy of university /college offer letter
- A copy of student’s /guardian’s MYkad
- A copy of SPM /Matriculation /Diploma certificate
- A copy of most recent payslip /pension statement /letter of income confirmation (for self-employment)
- A copy of your bank statement /bank book
Additional Document
- A copy PTPTN rejection letter (only for “Top-up” applications)
- A copy of Master’s degree transcript and scroll (PHD student only)
- A copy co-curriculum certificate (Tun Taib Scholarship /Oversea Loan Application only)
- A study leave letter (for working applicants only)
- A copy of Skim Pendahuluan Pelajaran Dan Teknikal registration fee payment receipt
- A copy of land / properly title / grant for overseas loan
- A copy of guarantor’s Mykad

Admission Assistance to Tertiary/ Technical Education
Eligibility
- Funding early-stage costs for students who started their studies at UTS.
- Students must be a Malaysian Citizen with Sarawak Connection (either parent)
- Parents / guardians have a per capita income of RM1,500.00 and below.
- The grant rate (no payback) as follows:
In Sarawak : RM1,000.00 - Application form obtain in Yayasan Sarawak website
Online Application
- Go to Yayasan Sarawak website
- Fill in and complete application form
- Priority to the list of courses offered and passed the interview
Application Period
- Applications are opened once a year (June – July) through advertisements on the official website and social media of Yayasan Sarawak.
TABUNG BAITUMAL SARAWAK
Eligibility
- For Sarawak Muslim students or Malaysian citizens residing in the state of Sarawak only
- Received an offer letter for Foundation,Undergaraduate or Postgraduate in UTS
- Registration in Semester 1 Year One only
Online Application
- Go to TBS website
- Fill in and complete application form
Application Period
- Application are 40 days from date registration (through advertisement on the official website Tabung Baitumal Sarawak)
EPF Partial Withdrawal
- For EPF withdrawal, parents must get the EPF Withdrawal application form from any nearest EPF office or download the application form through https://www.kwsp.gov.my/en/member/withdrawals/partial/education . Kindly search and download Confirmation Letter Format.
- Fill the form and attach it with the latest invoice/receipts from UTS Finance Department after week 4
- Kindly submit your application form attach with latest invoice/receipts and email to fadhilah@uts.edu.my and liza@uts.edu.my
- The application will be processed within 3 working days after we receive the form.
YAYASAN SABAH

- Applicants must be a Sabahan (either parent).
